How to prepare your pet
A little preparation helps your pet feel at ease. None of it needs to be perfect, and we adjust on the day to what your animal is comfortable doing.
- Choose a time of day when your pet is usually alert but calm
- Let them burn off some energy beforehand if they are usually restless
- Bring their favorite treats, toy or a squeaker, and any leash or harness you normally use
- Tell us about anything that unsettles your pet, such as loud noises, strangers or slippery floors
- Brush or groom them in the days before if that is part of how you like them to look
- Bring a second person your pet knows to help with attention and handling
Indoors, outdoors or at home
Some pets relax in a quiet indoor space, others come alive outdoors, and many are most natural at home. We talk through your pet's habits first and pick the setting that suits them, rather than choosing a look and hoping the animal fits it.
