Employee bio videos
Employee bio videos for Connecticut teams
A short video of a team member, speaking naturally about who they are and what they do, helps clients and new colleagues feel they already know the person before they meet.
What an employee bio video is
An employee bio video is a short piece about one person. They introduce themselves, explain what they do, and say a little about how they work with others. It is the video version of a team page bio, with the same facts and a lot more personality.
It is different from other video types we make. A recruiting video is about the company and hiring. A leadership message is a statement from an executive. A headshot is a still portrait. A bio video is about one person, in their own words.
Where bio videos help

Team pages
People hire people. A short video on a team page lets visitors see the person they might work with.
Client trust
Professional services, healthcare, law and finance depend on trust. A relaxed introduction helps clients feel comfortable before the first call.
Onboarding
New employees can meet colleagues from other offices or departments before they ever sit down together.
Proposals and email
A link to a short introduction can warm up a proposal or follow-up message.
Social and LinkedIn
A short clip or the portrait that goes with it gives your profile a human face.
Sales and account teams
Customer-facing staff can be introduced ahead of meetings, so conversations start further along.
Questions before you decide?
Tell us how many people, where the videos will live and what you want visitors to feel.
What people say in a bio video
The best bio videos sound like a conversation, not a script. We prepare a handful of questions and let the person answer in their own words.
Who they are and what they do
A plain-language answer, without jargon.
How they help clients or colleagues
What it is like to work with them and where they step in.
What they care about at work
A value, a project or a part of the job they enjoy.
A little personality
A hobby, a favorite local spot or something they enjoy outside work, if they want to share it.
How we make people comfortable on camera
Most people do not enjoy being filmed. They worry about stumbling, sounding rehearsed or looking awkward. We take those worries seriously and plan the session around them.
We talk through the questions beforehand, so nobody is surprised. We start with easy ones, keep the room quiet, and let people try again without apology. Natural pauses and laughter are fine, and we edit for clarity. We do not ask anyone to memorize lines.
How a bio video shoot runs
1. Decide the purpose
Is it for a team page, onboarding, sales introductions or all three? That decides length, format and tone.
2. Pick the people and questions
We agree who will be featured and prepare a short list of questions for each.
3. Plan the shoot
We choose a quiet space with good light, think about sound, and schedule people so the day moves smoothly.
4. Film and edit
We film each person in a consistent style so the set looks like it belongs together. Then we edit for clarity and rhythm.
5. Deliver in the formats you need
Horizontal for your website and vertical for social, with captions if you want them. We confirm the deliverables beforehand.
Planning tips for a smooth shoot
Choose a quiet room with natural light if possible. Busy offices create noise and interruptions that are hard to remove later. A tidy background that suggests the workplace is better than a blank wall.
Ask people to wear what they would wear to meet a client. Solid colors work well on camera. Avoid very small patterns and heavy jewelry that clinks near a microphone.
Keep the set consistent. If you film several people, use the same location and framing so the videos look like a series. Give each person a short slot and a few minutes to warm up.
Think about accessibility. Captions help people watching without sound, and a transcript on the page helps everyone.
Scoping a bio video project
A project can be one person or an entire team. We scope it by how many people you want to feature, what formats you need and how the videos will be used. Group days can be efficient because lighting and sound stay set up. We confirm deliverables with you before filming.
Pairing videos with headshots
Many teams film bio videos on the same day as headshots, so each person has a portrait and a short introduction. Our headshots page explains how those sessions work. Recruiting video covers the company side, and leadership message video covers executive announcements.

Common questions
How long is a typical bio video?
Short enough to hold attention. We decide the length with you based on where it will appear, and we can make a shorter cut for social.
Do people need to write a script?
No. We prepare questions and let people answer naturally, then edit for clarity.
Can we film a whole team in one day?
Often yes. Filming people in one place with the same setup is efficient. Tell us how many people and we will plan the schedule.
How is this different from a recruiting video?
A bio video is about one person. A recruiting video is about the company and why someone might want to work there.
Can we use the videos on social media?
Yes. We can prepare vertical and square versions and add captions. Tell us where you plan to post.
Can you also take headshots?
Yes. Many teams book headshots and bio videos together.
